Face The Face Oil Facts
Use a face oil because it is hydrating, don’t use a face oil if you have oily skin because it will cause breakouts. Sounds familiar? Many of us have been taught from a young age that face oils are the enemy so we’re here to debunk all of the face oil myths that you may have heard and yes, if you have oily skin, we have the perfect face oil for you!
Fact 1. Face oils are effective for anti-ageing.
Wrinkles, they are an inevitable part of life, but we can slow down the process. They say that drier skin tends to show fine lines quicker as hydration keeps skin taut and supple. Oils stop wrinkles in their cracks and ensure that skin is moistened and nourished, which helps towards anti-ageing. To add to the youthfulness, facial oils are rich in antioxidants, which are repairing for the skin and help to fight against free radicals that can cause fine lines due to collagen loss. So, if you are looking for a younger appearance, make sure you add a facial oil to your regimen!
Fact 2. You can use your facial oil in Winter and Summer.
Your skin tends to be drier in Winter but that doesn’t mean that your skin should suffer from a no-glow during Summer. There is a fear that due to the heat, you might be worried that your skin will appear more sweaty rather than radiant. Lighten it up, rather than packing on the oil, just press a small amount into skin. Your skin can get dry in the summer months due to the heat so it craves moisture and a face oil is a perfect solution.
Fact 3. Face oils can help to combat acne.
Naturally derived oils like Coconut or Jojoba don’t cause breakouts, it's usually synthetic oils that sit on the surface of your skin, rather than penetrate deeply. Face oils that have antibacterial or inflammatory properties are usually the best to go for if you have skin that’s prone to breaking out. Try our Power E Jojoba Facial Drop Treatment if you’re after a face oil that hydrates but doesn’t leave your skin feeling shiny. It's infused with Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil, which fight against pollution, UV damage and help to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines.
Fact 4. Use under a moisturiser for best results.
There are myths out there that share that you should either use a facial oil or a moisturiser. We recommend that if you have particularly dry skin to press a few drops of our Power E Jojoba Facial Drop Treatment into your skin, then follow up with your favourite moisturiser for hydrated skin. "If you apply an oil before your anti-aging cream, the oil molecules behave like tiny Trojan horses, tricking the skin into letting active ingredients—like retinol, Vitamin E, glycolic acid, and vitamin C—deeper into the skin and closer to the collagen-producing fibroblasts, all without irritating the surface" says Dermatologist David Colbert
