beauty from within (updated)
'Meditate twice a day, every day, even if just for 10 minutes. The more you do this, the more you will radiate from within' – Gabriella Danswan, Yoga instructor.
In the past decade, the amount of people paying more attention to their physical health has skyrocketed. But what about beauty from within? 2017 has shown us that being beautiful and healthy not only comes from the physical activities we partake in on a day to day basis, but is also about keeping our mind, body and soul heightened and at their best, in order to ultimately lead to radiate a healthier wellbeing. This can be achieved through activities of the mind, such as yoga and meditation.
Your super zen friends might be onto something… As we all know, this ancient mind-body practice has so many benefits, from boosting your mood, to improving your sex life, promoting better sleep, a calmer mind, and in general strengthening your entire body, and while it’s been around for thousands of years, but for at least the last decade, it’s becoming continually popular! Believe it or not, there are actually a multitude of not only health, but skincare benefits which many people don’t know about, and I am here to share them with you.
Combining specific yoga and meditation poses and breathing techniques with a healthy diet specific to your needs, along with an excellent skincare regime and lots of water can seriously help with an incredibly clear, luminous and beautiful complexion.
Not only this, but maintaining a balance in life in which stress levels are not high and consuming your thoughts can strongly improve not only your mental health but also radiate and shine through your physical health.
Stress can cause so many skin problems, like premature ageing - wrinkles, loss of elasticity, dull skin - so yoga and meditation vastly improve these signs. A happy you from the inside reflects on the outside!
Inverted poses during the process of yoga, like the cobra pose, fish pose and shoulder stand, can greatly increase blood circulation around the body and in the skin, as it encourages blood flow to the nerves (and therefore cell renewal), which promotes a wonderfully rosy glow.
While this is happening, the movement allow the body to sweat out all of the nasty toxins in the body and promote a healthier breathing pattern and improves the digestive system, which will prevent breakouts, dull skin, and low energy, consequently rejuvenating and refreshing your appearance.
Kepalbhati is a powerful breathing performance which can be practiced in order to increase oxygen flow to generate skin cells.
By incorporating yoga into your daily life, you will notice a massive difference in the way your skin looks and feels. Your skin will begin to appear more vibrant, bright, and younger and you’ll have a glow that others won’t help but notice.
